Integrated, evidence based, musculoskeletal therapy.
Conditions We Commonly Treat:
We provide care for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Headaches
- Shoulder pain
- Hip pain
- Sports injuries
- Arthritis-related pain
- Disc Bulges & Disc Annular Fissures
- Discogenic pain
- Vertigo [Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo & Cervicogenic Vertigo]
- TMJ Syndrome [Jaw pain]
Our Techniques include:
- Soft Tissue Therapy: Techniques such as pressure point, deep tissue and myofascial release to address muscle tension and improve tissue health.
- Spinal Manipulation/Mobilisation: Gentle, hands-on techniques to improve joint movement and reduce pain.
- Therapeutic Exercise: Customised exercise programs to strengthen supporting muscles, improve flexibility, and prevent future problems.
- Spinal Shape Analysis: We assess your skeletal shape [the chassis as I like to call it] and provide appropriate interventions as required. Heel lifts to correct short leg if present, guidance on managing non-short leg asymmetries and targeted strengthening to reduce the effects of spinal abnormalities. Such shapes in the spine are not able to be changed externally. Lying on a treatment table monthly will achieve relief but the shape remains & its gradual symptoms will reoccur. To slow & even prevent such pain returning passive & active interventions as mentioned above are critical. Otherwise you become ‘addicted’ to regular treatments for relief.
- McKenzie MDT: As developed by NZ Physiotherapist Robin McKenzie, this unique approach to musculoskeletal pain, in particular discogenic pain, integrates seamlessly with our hands on therapy. It provides a framework of patient controlled exercises to allow the body to recover efficiently from injury.
