
Q: Why is my time zone wrong?
A: Click on this link https://calendar.google.com/. Computer: Click on the cog symbol at the top right of the window. Select Settings. Under Time Zone select the correct Primary Time Zone being (Australian Eastern Time – Hobart GMT+10). Once selected, click on left arrow top left of screen to go back to calendar. Now return to our webpage. The Time zone should be correct. Android / iOS Device: Tap the menu top left [3 lines]. Tap on Cog symbol / Settings. Tap on General. Under Time Zone you can select to use your device’s time zone or define one manually. If the devices time zone is incorrect then you need to set that through your device settings. The correct time zone is (Australian Eastern Time – Hobart GMT+10).
On some devices, if the device is set to [Use device time zone]: google calendar will automatically update time zone as you travel. However sometimes it picks up the wrong time zone. In this case turn off [use device time zone] & set manually to Australian Eastern Time – Hobart GMT+10. Thanks to Brad our resident IT guru!
Note that you have updated the time zone for the account you have logged in to Google with. This is the account you will also receive confirmation emails. It may be a different email to the one you normally use. See the below question.
Alternative Fix: Download an alternative web browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Duck Duck Go etc. Using that browser will be independent to your google account & will usually resolve all time zone issues with google accounts.
Q: Why did I not receive a confirmation code to my email / Why did I not receive a confirmation email of the appointment?
A: The email you have logged into Google with is the email that the booking system will use. To find which account that is, open https://www.google.com/ in your browser. To the top right of the browser window will be an icon or letter in a border, normally coloured. Clicking on this will reveal your currently logged in account that Google will use for email confirmations. To change email account log out of that account & log in with a different account, or swipe up or down on a tablet / phone to change the account until the one you want to use is selected.
If you then return to our webpage, you will be using the selected account. on that same device, in that same browser, unless you change accounts, the selected account will remain as default.
Q: How can I tell if my device / google account is set to the correct time zone?
A: Go to Book Online: Existing Patient or New Patient from our webpage. Select a Wednesday or Friday far into the future. Find one with no existing appointments. The first appointment on either day should be 8.30am. If not your device or google account is set to the wrong time zone. See above for common solutions.
